How To Decide Which Fence Style Is Best For Your Garden

When deciding which fence style is best for your garden, consider the primary purpose of the fence, whether it’s for privacy, security, aesthetic appeal, or supporting climbing plants. Take into account the overall design of your garden and home, ensuring the selected fence complements the existing landscape and architectural elements.

    Our Fencing Installation Process

At AS Landscapes, we have been installing fencing for over 20 years and have a team of friendly and award-winning landscapers, who can provide you with the perfect new fence for your property. Whether you’re based in Ascot, Windsor, Surrey or Berkshire, we can help.

We want to ensure customers know what to expect when getting their new fence installed, here is our installation process:

    1

Initial visit and free no obligation quote:

Schedule an initial visit with our team to assess your fencing needs and discuss the options suitable for your garden. We can provide a detailed, free, no-obligation quote outlining the cost and scope of the project.
    2

    Planning and preparation:

We will begin by measuring the area where the fence will be installed and marking the boundaries. These boundary line will be checked with you and if necessary your neighbours to confirm the fence line. We will check for any underground utilities and obtain necessary permits if required. We will help you choose the appropriate fencing materials and design based on your specific needs and preferences.
    3

    Setting the fence posts:

Our fencing specialists will dig holes for the fence posts at regular intervals along the marked boundary, insert the posts into the holes, ensuring they are level and properly aligned. We will then fill the holes with concrete or compacted soil depending on the style of fencing chosen to secure the posts in place, and allow time for the foundation to set.
    4

Installing the fence panels or rails:

After we have set the fence posts, we will attach the horizontal rails or fence panels to the secured posts, ensuring each fence panel or rail is set correctly to follow the ground levels and fencing style, adjusting as necessary for a consistent appearance. We’ll use appropriate fasteners or brackets to securely attach the panels or rails to the posts.
    5

    Finishing touches and tidy-up:

Once all of the fence panels or rails are installed, we will inspect the entire fence for stability and alignment. Close board and panel fencing is all supplied pretreated in either a subtle green of brown colour wood preservative. We can add any additional desired treatments, such as paint, stain, or sealant, to protect the fence from weather and wear and ensure the area is cleaned up, removing any debris or excess materials, so you can enjoy your newly installed fence.
