We’ve been shortlisted for the Association of Professional Landscapers awards 2024
We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the 2024 APL awards, for our project ‘Quietways’ We entered this project in the Category for projects of over £250,000.
The Client’s brief was to create more space and light around the house, whilst upgrading the existing retaining brick wall. They also wanted to re-level the garden and create a more family friendly space.
As access to front of property was limited, the existing brick retaining wall was completely demolished as well as existing concrete paving was all crushed on site to create subbase backfill material for the new paving areas. This saved large amounts of material being removed from site and also reduced the amount of fill required to be imported back in.
The garden was designed by a company called Running Hare Design and we made a few adjustments to the design to help the project fit to the client’s budget. Also, by changing the shape of the wall on the plan, we were able to gain more space in the garden, which the client was very happy about.
For the soft Landscaping, we worked alongside Fiona of Fiona Harrison Garden & Landscape Design. She created a stunning planting plan, to cover the front and rear garden and also incorporated the area behind the large retaining wall, which was on a very tricky slope, so difficult to work with.
The final outcome of the garden, was a beautiful space, with plenty of room for the family to enjoy the outside area and lots of planting to soften the hard landscaping.
Client review – Oxshott garden re-design
Our Client gave us a lovely review – ‘We recently used Seymours for a large-scale garden project in Oxshott. From the outset the team were friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. The office team were very responsive to our questions and the on-site team went out of their way to be helpful and showed great flexibility throughout the project as several changes became necessary. They did an excellent job, completing our work on time and to budget and kept us fully informed throughout the process. The garden looks lovely and we are very pleased. I have already recommended their company to others and would have no hesitation in doing so again’.
This was a very large scale project and we also carried out another large project in Kingston, which we entered into the Marshalls Register awards 2022 and we won in the Category of Best use of ethically sourced Fairstone.
